Trainers

Providing the guide lines for you and your dog to live happy lives together is through education.

Education starts with the basics of puppy training, by teaching them about biting, getting them to socialise/meet with a large number of other dogs and humans, through to the introduction of a new adult dog into your home; introducing your new baby to your dog, or bringing a dog rescued from a kennelled or rescue organisations environment into your family.

Below are some trainers from around the country, and the list will continue to grow.  Trainers use different methods of training from traditional training (pushing, pulling the dog to do things) to the widely used positive training methods (guiding the dog through lure/reward or science based training methods). However, all training methods work, it is up to you to decide which training method and training provider you think suits both your family and your dog.

Dog Classes:

  • ask if you can attend one of their classes prior to booking yourself in to see if the people attending are enjoying themselves during class
  • watch to see how the trainer(s) teaches the class
  • see how many people with dogs are in the class, if there is more than 6 dogs , is there more than one trainer?
  • are they taught on or off leash
  • Is there a lot of talking or is the class continually doing exercises with their dogs?
  • is the whole family involved in the training or just one person?
